On World Patient Safety Day 2025, we are reminded that newborns and children have unique needs in healthcare.

• Physiology: Developing organs, faster metabolism, unique drug handling.
• Medication: Doses must be child-specific; scaling adult doses is unsafe.
• Communication: Children may not express symptoms; close monitoring needed.
• Equipment: Age-appropriate tools and procedures required.
• Development: Emotional, cognitive, and social growth affects care, response, and family involvement.

Under the 2025 slogan “Patient safety from the start!”, we reaffirm our dedication to building a safer future for the youngest and most vulnerable patients.
